A WEEKEND'S ACTIVITY IN IDAKOY RANCH HOUSE
Our house welcomes its guests with 7 rooms, 5 of which having their bathrooms
inside, and 1 house assistant. Hot water and central heating is present
all year round.
Arrival on Friday Night :
You can reach us by,
1.Your private vehicle, in which case, the map in this website will help
you find your way around. There is a fast ferry from Istanbul to
Bandirma that shortens the trip considerably.
2.Buses that depart from almost all major cities of Turkey, arriving at
Akçay.
3.By a rental minibus if you are a group, using one of the routes described
a little below.
Saturday Activities :
A Satisfying Start!
- Breakfast with homemade bread, our olives and olive oil, cheeses, milk,
eggs and butter from nearby villages, homemade jams and salad.
Activity of the Day
- This will be decided together by our guests. As it may be a trekking day
towards canyons, creeks and waterfalls of Ida Mountain, it may also be a
pleasant walk through villages with old stone houses, taking breaks in village
tea gardens, and collecting various herbs on the way.
The Dinner
- Get ready for a real feast! Food prepared under supervision of Mrs. Azatoðlu
includes pastries, meats and desserts of local cuisine, as well as some
Turkish traditional dishes.
Night Activities
- Beside the fireplace in winter, on the terrace overlooking the Bay of
Edremit in summer, talk goes on after the dinner. There may be a slide show
of our photos, as well as the ones our guests bring. Guests exchange day's
stories, and listen to owners' tales of mythology and history. And for these
reasons, there is no TV in our house.
Sunday - Back Home :
Sunday is mostly personal programs day, after a strong breakfast. Some of
our guests prefer hitting the road early on, while others take another half
a day to visit some historical places like Troy, Assos and Pergamon, some
cannot get enough of nature and squeeze in another trekking route. And so
our guests leave, refreshed and rejuvenated to take on the hassle of the
big city, yet again.
All we hope is to see them again, that we can share the clean air, sweet
waters and the ever-so-green olive shades in Idaköy's hospitality.
